How do we provide videos in the Amenities section?
Once you are logged into your CMS account, please do the following:
- Click on the Amenities button via the navigation side menu, under the Primary Sections heading.
- Navigate to the respective heading in any of your Room Types listed.
- Click on the Add Video link immediately below the details slot for that heading.
- If you have a web address link to a video published online (e.g. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ABCDEFGHIJKL) please do the following:
- Under the Video Link sub-heading for the respective property details, paste the web address into the Video URL slot and type in a name for the video in the Video Button Name slot immediately above it. This will appear as the button name for guests to access the video and should be provided with a unique name.
- Click on the Save button at the bottom of the screen.
- Scroll down to the heading you just added the video link for and you will see a link to view the video online.
- Publish an information update when all changes have been added to your account for guests to start seeing.
NOTE: Every video URL being added to your Hinfo CMS account will be reviewed upon submission by our team internally for quality and explicit content purposes, particularly due to the Hinfo app being rated 4+ on the App Stores. If we have an issue with any videos you provide, we will contact you directly.
If you have a video on your computer that is not yet published online, we recommend creating a YouTube account (if your property/group does not have one already) and upload the video as an unlisted video.
By setting the video to be unlisted, this will only be viewable by those that have access to the video link itself, including but not limited to your guests.
To upload an unlisted video to YouTube, please do the following:
- Login to your Google account associated with your YouTube channel. If you do not have a YouTube channel, create a Google account (associated with any Google/Gmail account).
- In your web browser, navigate to the YouTube homepage.
- Click on the Create button in the top right corner (looks like a video recorder with a plus icon inside of it).
- Select Upload Video.
- Click on the Select Files blue button, then navigate and select the MP4 or MOV file on your computer.
- On the Details screen, enter a title and brief description and select the No, it's not made for kids option as the video you are uploading applies to all age groups.
- Click on Next in the bottom right corner.
- Skip the Video Elements section by clicking on the Next in the bottom right corner again.
- Once the video has uploaded and the Checks has been completed, check to see if there are any issues that need to be addressed. If not, click on the Next button again in the bottom right corner.
- IMPORTANT: Click on the Unlisted option on the Visibility screen. Note that Private does not provide you with a video link to share with others, which is needed for your guests only to see to video. This does not affect whether the video is provided within the Secure Details section or not as all of this security is done within the CMS.
- Click on the Save button in the bottom right corner when it becomes available.
- When it says video published, click on the YouTube link to view the video online and make sure all is correct.
- Copy the web address for this video in the top address bar of your web browser (e.g. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ABCDEFGHIJKL).
- Follow the initial bullet points at the top of this support page, to add this video link to the Amenities details in your CMS account.
